Introducing a new way to work at one of my customers, all users can now choose between iNotes, IBM Notes client and Outlook.

But, mail sent from iNotes or Outlook results in a Domino console error:

Invalid POST Request Exception – (__) [/mail/usermail.nsf/($Drafts)/$new/?EditDocument&Form=h_PageUI&PresetFields=h_EditAction;h_ShimmerEdit,s_ViewName;($Drafts),s_NotesForm;Memo&ui=dwa_form] CN=User/C=NL
I have tried several settings for Max POST data size or attachment size etc. nothing seems to be the solution.

After a couple of hours trying several settings and rebooting the Domino server, my eye crossed a setting in the browser. Proxy server. After adding the internal URL into the Trusted Sites list, we finally could send mail and add attachments.

Now i had to find out why the proxy was the problem in this case.

The customer introduced a new WebContentFilter in their infrastructure. Specific words are blocked in the proxy. And one word was in the disclaimer at the bottom of every mail.

Details:

Invalid POST Request Exception – (__)    means “To Little Data”

Data between browser and Domino servers has been changed somehow. In this case, it was blocked by the proxy. So bypassing internal sites was the solution.
